AFFTON, MO (KTVI) – Water woes for one Affton neighborhood after a line break caused damage to a street. After waiting almost a week, residents want the problem fixed immediately.

Neighbors said the water has been leaking on their street in two areas of the 8000 block of Pontiac Avenue since Monday.

According to homeowners, they’ve been calling the St. Louis County Public Works Department all week to resolve the issue. They said workers came out, inspected the areas, and put down gravel.

“I’m hoping that our street is not a river anymore. The gravel they put over it is not helping, it’s making it worse. I can’t park in my driveway here; I just want it to be fixed,” said resident Jessica Smith.

Smith said she was told it would take weeks to fix.

Fox 2 News contacted county officials were told that they have received three applications for repairs from people on Pontiac and those repairs are set to start promptly on Monday morning.
