ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – Mayor Francis Slay has appointed a new Recorder of Deeds for the City of St. Louis.  Jennifer Florida will fill the position vacated by Sharon Carpenter. Florida will also be resigning from her elected post as Alderwoman for the city’s 15th ward.

According to a release from the office of the Mayor,” Florida took the oath of office, administered by Circuit 22 Judge Steven Ohmer, on Monday morning.  Under state law, Mayor Slay appointed Florida to serve out the remainder of the Recorder’s term, which ends December 31, 2014.”

Sharon Carpenter resigned after a nepotism investigation.
