(KTVI) – Missouri’s new internet shopping sales tax law has Amazon pulling its business from online associates in the state. It affects Amazon associates, who write blogs or product reviews linking to Amazon.
They get paid a small percentage if people use the link to buy the item.
The Kansas City Star is reporting Amazon says, it is a result of a new state law subjecting online transaction to sales tax.
Under the former law, Amazon shoppers were exempt from the state sales tax partly because there was direct connection, like a distribution centers or warehouses in the state.
