ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – Another westbound lane on the Poplar Street Bridge will be closing later this week for resurfacing work, the Missouri Department of Transportation said Monday.

According to Andrew Gates, MoDOT spokesman, crews are closing the ramp from Illinois Route 3 to the westbound PSB on Friday, April 24 at 8 p.m.

Drivers in Sauget who need to get across the Mississippi River are advised to make a u-turn at Barack Obama Avenue to get onto westbound Interstate 64.

Although the bridge will stay open during construction and resurfacing, drivers should consider alternate routes and use the new Stan Musial Veterans Memorial, the Eads, and the Martin Luther King bridges.

All westbound lanes of the Poplar Street Bridge and the on-ramp from IL Route 3 will reopen by early July.
