An Arnold, MO family is homeless Monday morning after an overnight fire. One person was inured, but firefighters are breathing a sigh of relief over a situation they say could have been much worse.

About 10:30 pm Sunday night, firefighters rushed to the scene on Pomme Meadow Drive. Flames were shooting out the top of this house. They describe it as being heavily involved.

Three people were inside as the fire was raging.  Fortunately they all got out.  One person suffered what firefighters describe as minor burns.  That person was treated at the scene. Seven people lived in the house. They are being assisted by the Red Cross.

The biggest worry, we're told, was the other houses in the area.  They're fairly close together, and the immediate concern was keeping the fire from spreading to more homes.

There is no word on the cause of the fire.
