KANKAKEE, Ill. (AP) _ A fire has destroyed a home outside Kankakee where three men were found dead earlier this month. Authorities suspect the fire was deliberately set.

The (Kankakee) Daily Journal reports that the blaze in Pembroke Township occurred early Wednesday morning.

Fire Chief Mark Baines says several callers reported an explosion about 3 a.m. Wednesday.

Investigators examined the ruins of the one-story cinder block home for several hours.

On Oct. 2, police discovered the bodies of 56-year-old Reginald Neal and his two sons, 24-year-old Dangelo Neal and 21-year-old Davante Hopkins. All were shot in the head.

Another man, 46-year-old Ralph Ledet Jr., was found dead in a driveway elsewhere in the township the day before.

Authorities believe the deaths are connected and are still investigating.
