ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - Wednesday marks 50 years since the completion of the Gateway Arch. St. Louisans are going all out to celebrate the golden anniversary. Including this message that's literally "out of this world."
"Hi, I'm astronaut Kjell Lindgren broadcasting from the International Space Station. Wishing the Gateway Arch of St. Louis Missouri a very happy and out of this world 50th birthday. What a special day in history celebrating this iconic symbol of American innovation and the National Parks Service team that takes care of it for millions of visitors each year. I've even brought a little disc of arch steel with me to commemorate this special anniversary. Here's to a monumental birthday, Gateway Arch."
