UPDATE: Crestwood police: Missing 12-year-old found

CRESTWOOD, MO (KTVI)- Police in Crestwood are still searching for a missing boy this morning. The twelve year old was last seen walking near a creek in a local park. FOX 2's George Sells is live in Crestwood, where Brant Whitakker has now been missing more than twelve hours. Police do not suspect any foul play here, but just the same they are concerned.

Whitakker was last seen Tuesday in Sanders Park. It's a public park nestled back in the neighborhoods south of Big Bend Road along Sanders Drive. Gravois Creek runs through the center, and it was along the creek where he was last seen.

There is an added element of worry because Whitakker suffers from both depression and a case of asthma. His mother says he should have his inhaler with him.

She is pleading for any help the public can give.

"If you see Brant please ask him to stay put and call the police. Brant please come home. We're looking for you. We're all looking for you and we love you."

He was last seen wearing a black Mizzou tigers tee shirt, a pair of grey jeans, and black shoes with red laces. He's rougly 5'4" tall and weighs 100 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes.

If you have any information on his whereabouts, please call the Crestwood Police Department at 314-729-4800.
