ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – Ballpark Village officially opens Thursday night, and if you plan on heading there, mind your manners and watch what you wear. If you visit after a late game don’t bring the kids along.

According to the Ballpark Village website, no one under 21 can enter after 9 pm. Minors must be accompanied with an adult at all times.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch is reporting that eight of the bars and restaurants will have a dress code. Sleeveless shirts and athletic shorts will be banned after dark.

You also won’t be able to wear sweat-suits, sagging pants, and shirts with printed profanity.

And team jerseys won’t be allowed, unless it’s game day.

Ballpark Village issued this statement, ““Ballpark Village is committed to delivering a world class guest experience and welcoming millions of visitors every year.

A customer code of conduct – which includes a dress code – is a recommended practice by police and alcohol boards across the country for entertainment areas and is currently implemented by similar businesses in St. Louis. These include casinos, theme parks, live music venues, restaurants, and bars.

While Ballpark Village itself does not have a dress code, individual businesses operating within the district do as a part of their standard codes of conduct, and will be published on their individual websites.

In Fox Sports Midwest Live!, PBR St. Louis – a Cowboy Bar, and Budweiser Brew House, dress codes will be implemented after 9 pm and when admittance is restricted to guests 21 and over. During these times, a third party, MBE-certified (minority owned) firm that is a leader in providing such services will administer the policies.

It is our goal to welcome all guests. In the rare event that a guest is not permitted access due to a dress code violation, he or she will be offered a refund on Ballpark Village parking expenses (if any) and a free valet voucher for the Ballpark Village parking lot for a future visit.

We look forward to the opening of this truly ground breaking sports-entertainment project that is welcoming to all and a tremendous source of pride for the St. Louis community.”
