ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) –  A new crime involving cows has ranchers saying ‘Where’s The Beef.’ More and more crooks are stealing cattle. The crime is causing a price hike at the supermarket.

Cattle rustlers are drawn to the $1,500 price tag a cow can catch. Police say ranchers are losing tens of thousands of dollars a year to cattle crimes.

Even when ranchers try to protect their beef with branding, crooks target newborn calves before they`re marked and take them to auction.
