ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - It will be quiet until almost sunrise when the remnants of an active band of storms moving in from the west arrive. Severe storms should not be expected in the morning, but a few strong wind gusts and a little hail may be possible.

The big question for Wednesday afternoon: will we see new severe storms?

The atmosphere will have been worked over by mid-morning and it will take a good deal of sunshine for it to recover and become unstable enough to support more big storms.

Scattered storms will redevelop over far eastern Missouri into southern Illinois by late afternoon and then motor to the northeast across Illinois by sunset.

A very low risk of tornadoes will exist. If we do not get enough sunshine, then new storm development will be limited Wednesday afternoon.
