ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - A New Year's tradition is coming back to Busch Stadium. The Blues and Blackhawks will play at Busch Stadium for the NHL's Winter Classic on January 2nd, 2017. The official announcement was made Tuesday at Busch Stadium. Members of the Blues, Blackhawks and Cardinals management delivered a press conference from home base.
St. Louis will be the eighth franchise to host the Winter Classic. The game is usually held on Jan. 1, but the league is pushing it back a day as it did in 2012 to avoid going head-to-head with the NFL.
It will be the first outdoor game in Blues history. The Blackhawks will be playing in their third Winter Classic and fifth outdoor game.
No word on when tickets go on sale, but priority will be given to season ticket holders.
