Body found at scene of Kansas City house fire

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) _ Kansas City police are investigating after firefighters found a body at the scene of a house fire.

KMBC-TV ( ) reports that crews responded to the blaze early Sunday. Chief Paul Berardi says that while firefighters were making a secondary search of the house, they found a body inside.

Kansas City Police Chief Darryl Forte says the case is being investigated as a suspicious death.

Investigators haven’t identified the victim or announced the cause of the fire.
