LEMAY, MO (KTVI) - A person of interest is in custody after the body of a woman was found Tuesday morning on a Lemay Street.

Neighbors say they found a white woman lying on the ground with her legs crossed on the side of the road on the 200 block of Wachtel.

Bommarito Automotive SkyFOX captured St. Louis County Police after they rushed to the scene after those shaken witnesses called for help.  Paramedics found 26-year-old Charley Smalley unresponsive. They were not able to save her and she was pronounced dead in the street.

Lemay Police say no signs of injury were found on her body. They are now waiting for toxicology reports.

No charges have been filed.

Frustrated neighbors say they have seen the woman before, walking in and out of houses they tell us are hubs for drug activity.

Neighbor Michael Saal explains, “A lot of drug deals, needles in the street.  We don’t even let our kids walk around in front of here, because we don’t know what we’re going to see or what they are going to walk over or anything like that.”
