COLLINSVILLE, IL (KTVI)- Police are investigating after a body was found Monday morning in Collinsville. It was discovered in a storage area near Laura Buick GMC located at 903 N. Bluff Road.

Collinsville police say that an abandoned vehicle was found at around 5am Monday at Stow-A-Way Properties. The owner of the vehicle is known to collect recyclable items from dumpsters. Police found Douglas Delashmit, 48, in a targe trash receptacle located near the vehicle. He was deaceased.

The Madison County Coroner’s Office and Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigation were called for assistance. Evidence at the scene did not lead investigators to believe foul play was involved, however, investigation is continuing. An autopsy is scheduled for later Monday.

This is the second body found in Collinsville in less than a week.  A body was found near the giant Catsup bottle last Wednesday.  Illinois State Police crime scene investigators are assisting in that case.  The victim is described as a white male, approximately 20-30 years old.
