ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - The Boston Red Sox beat the Cardinals in St. Louis in Game 5.  Now the Red Birds must win both games in Boston to become the World Series champs.

Game 5 did not go the way the Cardinals expected.   The Cardinals were down 1 to 0 early, but the Cardinals scored on a Matt Holliday home run over the center wall.  It was his second homer of the series.

In the 7th, two men were on for Red Sox David Ross when hit hit one into the corner in left field.  It bounced into the stands and a ground ruled double. The Sox went up by 1.

Then Jacoby Ellsbury added another run to the Red Sox lead after he singled to center off Adam Wainwright and Steven Drew scored from 3rd. The Red Sox won Game 5, 3 to 1.

They now lead the series 3 to 1 and are going back to Boston for Game 6 Wednesday night.
