Brief strong storm rolls through St. Louis Wednesday evening

ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – Wednesday night’s storm roll through the St. Louis area from 7:30 pm to  8:30 pm. The path of storm followed I-70 from St. Charles County to downtown St. Louis and over into the Metro East. Though the storm was brief, it dropped between 1” to 2” of rain.

Some neighborhoods in North St. Louis saw flash flooding.

The heavy rain forced a delay in the Cardinals-White Sox game at Busch Stadium that lasted almost two hours. Officials say they will try to restart the game at 9:05 pm.

Winds of 40-60 mph were clocked in some areas.

At 9 pm some 5,000 Ameren customers are without power in North St. Louis County mostly.
