BELLEVILLE, IL. (KTVI) - People in Illinois were feeling the cold weather Thursday night.

"It is freezing out here, but that is Illinois for you," Jeff McBride said. "This is insane."

The Illinois Department of Transportation spent several hours treating roads.

The temperature was expected to drop overnight, so officials said they needed to make sure the roads do not freeze.

"There is some ice out here, so everyone needs to be careful out here," McBride said.
