FERGUSON, MO (KTVI) –  Missouri Highway Patrol Captain Johnson isn’t giving specifics on how the midnight curfew would be enforced, so we’ll have to wait until midnight to see if the police change tactics at that point.

The area along West Florissant has been jammed all night with an overwhelming number of people being peaceful and listening to activists demanding justice.  Among those voices calling for justice is Congressman Lacy Clay, Jr.

As for police presence, there wasn’t a lot before 8 p.m.   Missouri Highway Patrol Captain Ron Johnson, along with his boss from Jefferson City, and St. Louis city police Chief Sam Dotson marched with protesters. Captain Johnson stopped along the way to talk with protesters, using a soft approach to engage demonstrators.

Some have criticized this approach believing it led to some looting of Ferguson businesses along West Florissant. It’s a topic he will not address other than to say no one was injured last night.
