Thieves fire shots in the air downtown damaging the Hyatt

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - St. Louis City police are looking for two suspects who stole a car and fired shots into the air, damaging a window at the Hyatt downtown.

Around 2 a.m. Thursday, police say two men broke into a car parked at 4th and Chestnut, just across the street from the Hyatt.  The owner saw the men and yelled at them to stop.  The men then got into a tan Honda Civic and fired shots in the air as they drove off.

Officials say a bullet broke out the window of a room a the Hyatt. Residents inside the room were not injured.

Authorities are looking for a black male, mid 30s, 5-foot-8 inches tall and about 220 pounds.  He had a beard and was wearing a dark hat, white t-shirt, gray pants and dark shoes.

The second suspect was wearing a dark hat, dark t-shirt and blue jeans.   He is also described as a black male in his 30s.

A laptop computer, wallet and other items were stolen from the victim's car.
