Car crashes into home trapping two people inside

BELLEVILLE, IL (KTVI)- A car crashed into a Belleville home Wednesday night forcing firefighters to rescue two people who were trapped on the second floor. Firefighters had to use an aerial ladder to rescue the people, but they are expected to be survive. This accident happened around 10 p.m. in the 900 block of East Main Street. Authorities say the car hit a traffic signal, slammed into an SUV parked outside the home and then crashed into the home.

Firefighters said five different streets come together on angles in the area and that it’s caused confusion and several crashes in the past.

The two people who were inside the car were taken to an area hospital. They are expected to be okay. The crash is still being investigated.
