DES PERES, MO (KTVI) - Suspects wanted for stealing from a store then struck a police car and another driver in Des Peres Friday afternoon.

The accident happened as hundreds of shoppers were trying to get to the nearby West County Center. Police say suspects were trying to flee from the T.J. Maxx store in the shopping center in the 11700 block of Manchester road.  They backed into the police car, ramming it.  The officer was not hurt.

Then the suspects headed west on Manchester road and struck another car before  flipping over.  Three suspects, two men and a woman described as in their twenties were injured and rushed to a hospital.

"It jumped one of the medians inside the parking lot and headed westbound on Manchester Road and our officers were several car lengths behind it..they were stuck in traffic.  The car was able to enter the intersection.  It went through a red light and collided with another car that had a green light that was , I believe, coming down south on Ballas Road ." said Captain Charles Milano of the Des Peres Police Department.

Police describe the young woman as unresponsive and believe her injuries are serious if not critical. The driver whose car was struck declined treatment.
