ST. LOUIS – Cardinals broadcaster Mike Shannon revealed he had COVID-19 in October 2020.

He told the Post-Dispatch he was in the hospital for 15 days and thought he was going to die. He said doctors gave him the same drug combination President Donald Trump received and that “turned the trick.”

Shannon is still receiving physical therapy three times a week. He had earlier announced this will be his 50th and final year broadcasting Cardinal baseball.
