KIRKWOOD, MO (KTVI) – While Busch Stadium is ground zero for fun and fans, all around the St. Louis area people have come down with Cardinal fever.

At St. Peter Catholic grade school in Kirkwood, students are showing off their redbird spirit. They’re using red solo cups to spell out “Go Cards” and one of the classrooms has also posted best wishes in its windows.

Students were even permitted to wear Cardinal gear with their uniforms Monday.

All the students seem hopeful the Red Birds can win the World Seriesbut they know it’s important for the team to win tonight so when Cards return to Boston they need to win only one out of two games.

One young fan explains, “It would be great if we win and we are ahead when we go back to Boston.”

Another adds, “This is really exciting. This is really special. It doesn’t happen every year.”

One girl says, “It would be really cool, because I’ve only seen three World Series from the Cardinals.”

Only three World Series in her 12 years of life, you can hear Cubs fans right now - if only, if only.
