KABUL, AFGHANITAN (CNN) – Shrapnel from rocket fire damaged the top U-S military commander’s plane in Afghanistan today. But General Martin Dempsey’s spokesman says the Joint Chiefs chairman was in his room, and not in any danger.
Two maintenance workers were slightly injured.
The plane was parked at Bagram Air Field, outside Kabul, overnight.
Officials say Bagram comes under rocket or mortar fire about twice a month.
Dempsey is there to meet with both the commander of NATO forces, and the top Afghan army general.
