PAGEDALE, MO (KTVI)-- Charges were brought today against Ricky Weeden in last Friday’s fatal hit and run in Pagedale.
He's now charged with second degree murder in the death of 4-year-old Trayeshon Williams.
Trayeshon died a week ago after he and his 10-year-old brother were hit while walking to a convenience store.
The boys were crossing St. Charles Rock Road in Pagedale when a pick-up truck crashed into them and the driver took off.
Weeden was taken into custody earlier this week.
Weeden has a history of problems behind the wheel.
He has several DWIs on his driving record, including a 2010 DWI is Wellston.
He could have spent 15 years behind bars, but he and prosecutors agreed to a plea deal.
"We had issues with the investigation that dictated that,' St. Louis Co. Prosecutor Robert McCulloch said.
