City, County Police Work Separate Murder Scenes Overnight

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - St. Louis County Police have identified the victim in one of two shootings overnight.

It was a violent night in both St. Louis City and St. Louis County. Two murders within an hour of each other -- one in North St. Louis, the other in North St. Louis County.

St. Louis County officials say around 11:45 p.m. Patricia S Singleton, 22, was shot and killed when someone outside a homeon Chambers near New Halls Ferry Road.  Investigators say Singleton was inside the house when someone started shooting from outside.

Fourty minutes earlier,  a man was shot and killed in North St. Louis at Obear and Emily in the College Hills neighborhood.  Police say the victim was sitting on his motorcycle when he was shot several times.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.  Investigators have not released the victim's name but do say he is a 21-year-old black male.  Police have no suspects or motive.  They say no one saw the shooting happen but several people heard a lot of gunshots.

Police do not believe the shootings are related.
