City Police Officer injured in shooting at firing range

ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – Police and EMS crews are on the scene of an incident at the St. Louis City Metropolitan Police Department shooting range on Gasconade in south city.   Police confirm its officer was on-duty and practicing at the shooting range in the 21-hundred block of Gasconade when he accidentally shot himself in the left foot.  The officer was injured and is being transported to a hospital to be evaluated.  The injury doesn’t appear to be life-threatening.  The officer is 30-years-old and was training.
