FERGUSON, MO (KTVI) – A federal judge ruled a class action lawsuit against the city of Ferguson can move forward. The suit alleges Ferguson illegally jailed between 5,000 and 6,000 people for some 18,000 days. They were jailed because they couldn’t pay small amounts of money to the city owed for various tickets and violations.

The judge rejected Ferguson’s two attempts to have the case dismissed. We’ll keep you posted as the case moves forward.
