ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)-- A cold blooded murder remains a cold case that police and family members are determined to solve.

The victim is Michael Goulbourne, 14.  He had a bright future until a gunmen opened fire three years ago Tuesday night.  His father Reuben misses his son every second of the day, "This is hard everyday harder and harder cause I miss him dearly."

Goulbourne and his son were working at their food stand in the 1200 block of North Kingshighway on May 8, 2009.  At closing time, three men robbed them of their cash and jewelry and then killed Mike. Goulbourne said, "He was like everything to me, my best friend, my son. I'm so sad that somebody can't come forward and say something if they know something."

Michael attended Normandy Middle School where he played in the band and was active in the school safety patrol.

The last good lead police had was last year and detectives say it did not pan out.  Lt. John Green explained, "People are afraid to come forward and talk to the police. Some fear retaliation. Some just don't want to come forward because they're wanted or think they might be accused of the crime."

CrimeStoppers has posted a $1,000 reward leading to the arrest of a suspect.  Officials say the reward money, guilt and the fact that callers can remain anonymous encourage folks to help solve crimes.

Lisa Pisciotta is CrimeStoppers Program Director, "We don't tell them who called. We don't tell anybody where you're from. We don't take your name, your phone number. We have no caller I.D.  It's completely anonymous. We can't get back to you, you have to get back to us."

Michael's father has a message for his son's killers, "We are definitely coming for you. We have to have you. We need you. Justice has got to be done."

CrimeStoppers phone number is 866-371-8477.  In the past five years CrimeStoppers has been a part of finding suspects in hundreds of cases, including ten homicides.
