JEFFERSON CITY, MO. (KPLR) – Missouri HealthNet says that over 27,000 client’s personal information had been incorrectly emailed to a bad email address for Infocrossing, Inc. The company is a third-party contractor for Missouri HealthNet, the administrator of Missouri’s health care service for Missouri’s low income and vulnerable citizens. E-mails of personal information occurred from December 21, 2009 to June 7, 2013.
Mo HealthNet blames a computer system error caused the personal data to be emailed to the wrong email address. The department says the computer error has been fixed, but is still contacting clients to inform them that the following information may have been disclosed.
- Participant Name
- Date of Birth
- Mo HealthNet Identification Account Number
- County Name
- Phone Number
- Last four digits of their Social Security Number
- Or their full Social Security Number
