ST. LOUIS – Country singer Jason Aldean and his wife Brittany have a furry new addition after last weekend’s concert in St. Louis. Brittany Aldean announced via Instagram that the couple adopted a puppy from Stray Rescue of St. Louis. Donna Lochmann with Stray Rescue of St. Louis rescued the 10 puppies from a pipe on a hot summer day. The puppies were given heat-related names: Hot Air Balloon, Hot Topic, Hot Tamale, Hot Toddy, Hot Chocolate, Hot Potato, Hot Pepper, Hot Pocket, and Hot Box Cookie. The last puppy out—and the hardest to get—was named Hot Damn. “He literally sat there looking at us in the middle of the pipe, laid down and went to sleep,” said Lochmann. Fast forward to this past weekend, Jason Aldean and his wife Brittany were in St. Louis for his concert. “We just put it out there on Facebook to our fosters. ‘Hey, anybody willing to go and take their puppies out to meet the crew and Jason Aldean?’ They meet them backstage, take them to an area, the crew and whoever wants to meet them gets to hold them and get some puppy loving,” said Lochmann. The rest was history.  The Aldean family came home with a new baby boy. “She fell in love, apparently. So that’s how they ended up with Hot Damn, the littlest puppy, and the last one we rescued, the one that gave us the most trouble is who they took,” Lochmann said. There are seven other puppies in the litter currently being fostered and waiting to be adopted. Lochmann hopes the Aldean’s adoption brings attention to all the animals waiting on their forever homes. “We are very full, we are hoping that people will see this story and not only want to adopt puppies, but we have a lot of adults here as well, that are looking for the same opportunity that these puppies are in finding a great home,” Lochmann said.
