(KTVI) – A major ruling is expected in the Jon-Benet Ramsey case this week. A judge could decide if the evidence that has never been released should be made public.
Earlier this year, a Boulder paper reported that a grand jury voted to indict the 6-year-old’s [parents] parents on charges of child abuse resulting in death.
An investigative journalist who covered the case says the DA at the time refused to sign the indictment, because he believed there wasn’t enough evidence to convict.
By law, a grand jury and witnesses are assured their decisions will be kept a secret.
However, the paper argues the indictment would serve the public interest in providing government transparency.
