(KTVI)- “This is not a white and black thing… this about humans.” Ty Pruitt is the cousin of Michael Brown and he is urging looters and anyone putting negativity on social media to shut down.

The St. Louis native came to help clean up Ferguson Saturday morning. “This is my city and I want to help my city heal.”

Pruitt says he wants to sit with his family. They need to talk, cry and grieve in peace over his cousin. “This is a tragedy to my family and the community,” said Pruitt. “The more break-ins, looting, and terrifying of the community will only get my cousin’s case pushed back.”

He can’t express his anger enough. The ignorance is affecting the entire community.

“This is an insult to my family.”
