Dave McGinnis Hired As Rams Assistant Head Coach

The St. Louis Rams have named Dave McGinnis as assistant head coach. McGinnis has been a coach for 39 years and joins the Rams after spending the last eight seasons with the Tennessee Titans. He worked in Tennessee with the Rams newly hired head coach Jeff Fisher for the past eight years.

McGinnis has speant the past 25 seasons in the NFL, including three and a half years as the head coach for the Arizona Cardinals. McGinnis was the Arizona Cardinal’s defensive coordinator from 1996 to 2000 before being promoted to the head job during the 2000 season.

In Arizona, he led a group that produced three Pro Bowlers in Aeneas Williams, Eric Swann and Simeon Rice.

McGinnis started his career as a three-year starter as a defensive back at TCU. He graduated in 1973 with a degree in business management. He was born in Independence, Kansas and grew up in Snyder, Texas.
