DNA evidence clears man in University City jogging attack

UNIVERSITY CITY, MO (KTVI) – A 35-year-old man has been cleared in a jogging attack last Fall, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.  Anthony Benson, 35, was charged with kidnapping last fall.  Prosecutors have dropped all charges after his alibi was supported by video and DNA evidence.

He was accused of grabbing a female jogger from behind and putting his hand over her mouth.  The woman was jogging at 6am on Forsyth road October 13th, 2014.   She bit the suspect’s hand and got away.
