Dogs rescued from house explosion that occurred Saturday

CASEYVILLE, IL (KTVI) – Good news for the man whose home exploded and caught fire Saturday evening. The owner was away at the time of the explosion in the Hollywood Heights subdivision in Caseyville IL, which is still under investigation.

The blast threw debris into neighbor’s yards and was heard up to a quarter of a mile away.

Monday the owner’s three dogs were rescued from their cage in the basement of the home. It had been feared the dogs had perished in the fire after the explosion.

The dogs are all okay, suffering from minor burns and dehydration.
