TRENTON, IL (KTVI) – Firefighters were busy in Trenton Illinois Sunday afternoon after a Dollar General store caught fire. The blaze totally consumed the business, as employees and customers raced to get out of the smoke-filled building.
The store was located on 600 block of East Broadway. The blaze broke out around 2:30 pm and went to three alarms.
Over 50 volunteer firefighters and EMS personnel responded to the blaze from various fire departments. The gusty winds made it tough for crews to get the fire under control.
Investigators say the store is a total loss, and that an investigation has been launched to find the cause of the fire.
No one was injured in the fire.
