Domestic Dispute Leads Police To Explosives

BELLEVILLE, IL. (KTVI) – A domestic dispute in Belleville leads authorities to firearms, ammunition and explosives.  Early Saturday morning, Belleville Police were called to the 300 block of North 5th Street.

Upon arrival police to the scene, police were told by witnesses, that a man and woman had been arguing in a home and the the male had threatened to shoot the female.  Officers located the female a short distance from the home and were told by the victim; she had left the home, but had heard a loud bang from the home.

The victim was not injured; police cordoned off the area and established contact with the man in the home.

Police requested the man exit the home and he complied.  Police then entered the home and found firearms; ammunition and what appeared to be explosives in the home.

The bomb squad was called in, who secured the explosive devices and disposed of the explosives.

No charges have been file, pending further investigation.
