COUNTRY CLUB HILLS, MO (KTVI) – Two people are dead after a deadly fire in Country Club Hills.  The fire occurred overnight Saturday in the 7500 block of Calvin.  Fire crews arriving on the scene found the residence full of smoke and fire.  Firefighters entered the house to rescue a paraplegic man.  They had to cut a hole in a back wall of the house for the man’s wheelchair, but were too late.

Another person in the house tried to escape, but ran to the front of the house into heavy smoke and flames.  That person also perished in the fire.

Country Club Hills Police Department and the St. Louis County Bomb and Arson are investigating the fire.
