ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - Police are searching for multiple suspects after a man was shot in the head while driving in downtown St. Louis. Police are calling the incident an attempted robbery. Detectives say it all unfolded at the intersection Olive and North 11th street around 7:30pm Tuesday night. People were still at restaurants and shopping when the gunman opened fire.

The victim was stopped at a red light at Olive and North 11th in downtown St. Louis when one of the suspects walked up to his vehicle's window. Investigators say the victim also noticed two other suspects standing nearby on the sidewalk. Police say as the man began to drive away, one suspect opened fire. Officers say the victim drove off, trying to find help. Later the victim's vehicle crashed into another vehicle, and into a planter about a block away at 9th and Olive.
