ST. ANN, MO (KTVI) – A big drug and gun bust for St. Ann police is connected to a pursuit and crash on Interstate 55 this afternoon.

According to Detective Sgt. Ron Martin, St. Ann Police Department, authorities recovered several high-powered rifles and handguns, as well as crack cocaine, heroin, and marijuana from a home Tuesday night.

The investigation started Monday after police arrested a man on drug and gun charges, who then decided to help police find his supplier. Officers were conducting surveillance in south city near Morganford and Utah when they said they witnessed a drug transaction.

Martin said when police attempted to pull the vehicle over, the occupants began tossing guns and drugs from their car.

The police pursuit ended on southbound I-55 near Arsenal, when the suspect crashed into a dump truck.
