ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)-- The winter storm slamming the east coast has been effecting flights at Lambert St. Louis International Airport Monday.

More than three dozen flights were cancelled at Lambert Airport Monday.

The airport says 17 departures and 20 arrivals were cancelled and several other flights were delayed because of the snow, sleet and freezing rain on the east coast.  Many of the cancelled flights were arrivals from New York, Newark, and Philadelphia.

But it wasn't just the northeast hit with weather problems.  Some arriving flights from Florida were delayed because of fog.

By late Monday afternoon the number of cancelled and delayed flights at Lambert had dropped to just a few.  But there could be more delays Tuesday night.   The northeast is expecting another storm Tuesday night that could bring rain, freezing rain and snow.
