East St. Louis imposes curfew because of Ferguson unrest

EAST ST. LOUIS, IL (KTVI) - If you are 17 and younger, you now have a curfew in East St. Louis.

Mayor Alvin Parks imposed the curfew because of the Ferguson unrest and the break-ins into East St. Louis businesses.

The curfew is from 6pm to 6am until Monday December 1st.

The curfew applies as follows:

  • 1. For Those 17 and under.
  • 2. Allows for participation in school, church and structured after-school activities, all of which must involve adult supervision.
  • 3. Allows for meeting work commitments.
  • 4. Last  through Monday , December 1, 2014.

The City of East St. Louis takes its responsibility of protecting the health and safety, in general, very seriously. In particular, the adults of the community must protect the generations to come,
