CHARLACK, MO (KTVI)- Police made a huge pot bust on Friday in Charlack.

FOX 2 gained exclusive access to the multiple marijuana plants that were seized from the backyard of a home in the 8400 block of Ann Avenue.

It all started when a police officer spotted someone breaking into the garage of the home.

The officer chased after the suspect, who led him through a back yard. After the suspect got away, the officer found himself "in the middle of a marijuana crop," according to Chief Steve Rungy.

Shortly thereafter, the homeowner’s freedom went up in smoke.

The homeowner’s craving for cannabis has him facing drug possession charges, with the intent to distribute.
