ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – A witness to Friday night’s fatal hit and run in the Central West End says the male victim was walking here near Lindell Boulevard and North Sarah Street when the driver of a red Mazda Miata struck the victim knocked him off   his feet and drove off.

The incident happened just before 10:30 pm Friday night.

Investigators say a vehicle was driving down Lindell Boulevard when it struck a man crossing the street.  A witness said the male victim was hit by one vehicle and knocked under a second vehicle.

FOX2 has been told the driver of the second car stopped, but  the driver  of  first car that   reportedly  hit the victim  got out of his car looked at the man under the second  vehicle and got back in his vehicle and fled the scene .

At this point the victim has not been identified and police say the investigation is on-going as they continue to search for the driver.
