GRANITE CITY, IL (KTVI) – A cat trapped for at least two days on a church roof is home safe. A Facebook group called, “Lost and Found Pets of Madison County” had a role in the freeing the feline named Stasia.

Michelle Schuelke posted pics of the mouser perched high on St. John Lutheran church. She says AT&T told her it was there. The caption on her photos states, “He’s terrified. The roof is very very steep and he can’t get down. Can’t anyone, anywhere help this poor baby.”

Members of the group started sharing the photos and seeking help. They called the fire department who said the cat would come down on its own. Then members mentioned trying a tree service or the electric utility and FOX 2.

Stassi’s Outdoor Service got involved with the kitty rescue.

“Boom truck with Ricci Stassi-scared the cat lower-boom truck again-scared the cat even lower-then a ladder and the cat was grabbed.” writes Tammy Donaldson Lane.

Sasha the cat has been reunited with her owners.

“I took the cat to the owners which is an older couple who don’t have internet. I took her out of cage and she ran straight to dryer where her food and water was and was calm as can be!” writes Ronnie Kirk.

“Great job daddy!” wrote Michelle Schuelke.
