ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)- An early morning house fire has displaced a family of four in south St. Louis. The fire started around 1 a.m. in the bottom unit of a home on Dewey Avenue at Bellerive. The woman who lives there was not home at the time.

The family living upstairs woke up when they smelled smoke. The couple and their two children made it out safely.

There is no word on the cause of the fire.
