ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)– Cardinals fans were cheering long before game time Wednesday, enjoying a pep rally held at the future site of Ballpark Village.
They rocked to the sounds of the band Cosmic Cow, and enjoyed cold beer and free face painting of the bird on bat logo.
“We are going to go all the way, we`ve only got three more here in St. Louis, no more San Francisco,” said fan Rob Halloway, who was sporting a crazy red wig.
“I hope it don`t rain, I`ll turn all pink man, that would be bad news,” Halloway said.
A few in the crowd were Giants fans, including Jim Haskins of Maryland Heights.
“I`m a die hard Giants fan but I am also a Cardinal fan. May the best team win,” he said.
Renee Basilile and her 11-year-old son Jonny were at the stadium almost three hours early.
“We are down here for the rally and we`ll be here to the end of the game. Even if its one o`clock in the morning, we`ll be out partying,” she said, her son Jonny adding, ’12 in 12. No doubt about it.’
Haskins, the lone Giants fan at the rally, said despite his hat and jersey he was well received which speaks well of St. Louis.
“St. Louis is the best baseball city on the planet, if not the universe,” he said. “I`ve had 15 to 20 people come up and want to take pictures with me.”
