Chicago area priest picked to replace retiring Belleville Bishop

BELLEVILLE, Ill. – Pope Francis has accepted the resignation of Father Edward Braxton. Braxton led the Belleville Diocese and is retiring at age 75. The traditional retirement age per church policy. Pope Francis has appointed Father Michael McGovern from a parish just north of Chicago.
